The most frequently asked question I get is; “What is the best link building campaign (to achieve higher rankings obviously)?”
Of course it’s very different for each site, market, keywords and so on. Which is why we offer our services in small packages, so you can order them monthly in combination with each other.
First thing first; url’s & keywords; as long you or your seo-company keeps track of those and can provide us with it, that’s the best way, no doubt about that.
If not; keyword ranking report – it provides for a large number of pages the best keywords(phrases) and their rankings, so we have the data to work with and as a bonus; it’s very, very valuable for you to look at and follow up on your seo.
We offer 3 services;
Of course there are other link building tactics, but these 3 are ‘a sure bet’, and they work together very well. From the 200 different factors, the anchor text links from related, high PR pages is still the most important one.
While the best way to get those are the blog comments, then the articles and last are the directory submissions; when you put a price on them it’s the other way around.
Which means that for the same $XX you spend, you do get more or less the same total link value out of it … because that’s how I’ve been balancing these packages as best as possible over the years J
So, these are my monthly packages for it;
- Blog commenting : 50 total-PR blog commenting – $110
- Article writing & submissions : 1 article writing + 50 article submissions – $100
- Directory submissions : 250 homepage + 5×50 deep-linking = 500 manual directory submissions – $155
So, basically – yes, I’m suggesting that you simply take 1 package of each per month, or if your budget is limited you can change each time you order; point being; it’s the combination of them that will eventually do the trick.
But ok, let me give me a few important pointers; (all tactics give related links!)
- Biggest Advantage:
- High PR links
- Disadvantages:
- It’s just really is really hard!
- requires a lot of research (very expensive)
- native English writers (more expensive)
- mostly no anchor text link
- mostly no deep-linking
- Important:
- It’s mostly about high PR links without anchor text, but that still means that your homepage gets more PR and rather fast with these links, and so your homepage becomes that related, high PR page where you have 100% control over the anchor texts links used to link to other pages and that does show in the rankings!
- Advantages:
- Consistent
- As well decent PR links as large amount of links
- very, very good for anchor text deep-linking
- the more you do it, the better it actually gets
- Disadvantages:
- native English writers (more expensive)
- Important:
- That’s why it says consistent as first advantage – there are no major disadvantages. It’s just not cheap.
- Advantages:
- Cheap = you can get a really lot of links = the effect can by spectacular sometimes (as long you have PR already).
- Although average PR is rather low, the category tree structure and the other listings on the same page as your listing make the pages very related, this in combination with the large amount you get from it, the results are there.
- Disadvantages:
- You cannot do it forever!
- Simply put: 500 really very good directories, 500 good ones, then another 500-1000 just good enough, that’s it, those other 30.000 directories are or paid or crap.
- Once you have done about 1.500 directory submissions we can still do another 500 every few months, but then it’s just exhausted as a decent link building tactic.
- Note:
- As a last resource there are the semi-automated directory submissions; there are constantly new directories being created, to get into those from in the beginning will give you good links in the long run and it’s just $25 for 250 semi-automated directory submissions.
Although the concept of link building might seem very straight forward, there’s more to it than just getting those links.
Your overall link profile is very important. It keeps on amazing me how many people have no clue, yet spend a lot of money on buying links or link building services.
2 of the most common problems many web site owners make;
1) Only links to the homepage – and even worse – trying to get your homepage to rank for all your keyphrases – big mistake!
2) Ignoring the links from your own pages – what a waste!
Now, before I go on; this blogs offers basic information about SEO and link building, but every site is different, that’s why you don’t have to be shy to contact me and ask advice. That’s what we do as SEO-consultants and we do it for free.
Free? What’s the catch? I hear you think. Simple; I want you to be impressed by our SEO knowledge, dedication to personal service and especially my honesty, this so I can convince you to order from us. Point being; SEO is an ongoing process, partly because some of your links will lose value or even disappear all together, but that’s not the biggest issue. The main reason why you can never stop with SEO is simply because the other sites want to jump over you in the rankings and therefore are spending time and money on their own SEO and link building. So, just to maintain a position you already have to keep on going with your SEO.
In other words, each time I can convince a new client to start ordering from us, I know that we’re in business for a long time to come. Not just because you’ll need it, but also because we will do whatever it takes to keep you satisfied and so to keep getting your orders.
You see, honesty is 1 of my strong points. But ok, enough about me and our free SEO-consult service. Back the issue at hand; typical SEO mistakes to avoid.
Ok, problem 1) – only links to the homepage.
Let me go straight to the solution and the reasons why to do this differently; first of all it doesn’t look natural, but even more so; links accumulate value. 10 links to 10 pages is worth more than 100 links to 1 page. Because the way google calculates links and their value, which they express in PageRank (PR), it simply gives more value to have links to as many pages as possible. let me put it like this; links pointing to the same page add up, while links pointing to different pages, and of course those pages linking to each other get multiplied! that’s your gain.
Another example in this category; many times a get a new client who made the mistake of getting homepage links only, and as usually that shows as the homepage might have PR3-4 for example, while the sub-pages have PR0 or even PR non-available. whenever I’m able to convince the site owner to finally get links to the sub-pages, it usually just takes a few links to each of those pages to get those pages all of a sudden to jump from PR0 to PR3-4 just like the homepage, and I’m not even talking about high PR links, not just some of the easy to get (=cheap for you) links will do.
This brings us to the point about links from your own pages. Well, once your own internal pages actually have value, you can use those pages to link to any other page, and even more so, with the exact keyphrase as anchor text, as you need it.
I find it amazing how many people don’t realize that many times the very best links you can actually get are links from your pages, in other words links that are right there for you to grab with a minimum of effort.
That’s it for now, keep reading this blog for tips and advice, but don’t hesitate to contact us for free SEO consultancy or a SEO-quote.
